At Silver Strike Concrete, we’re always looking for ways to connect with the community. What better way than a visit to Career Day? We recently had the opportunity to join Mrs. Overstreet’s 4th grade class at Fritsch Elementary School in Carson City for a hands-on introduction to the world of concrete.

With a mixer truck on site and plenty of eager questions from students, we gave the class a behind-the-scenes look at how concrete is made, what it takes to operate heavy equipment, and why safety and teamwork are essential in every project we take on.

From the classroom to the blacktop, students were fully engaged, learning how concrete is part of the world they see every day, from sidewalks and playgrounds to buildings and bridges. Their curiosity, energy, and thoughtful questions reminded us why outreach like this matters.

A big thank you to Fritsch Elementary for having us, and to the students for making the day such a memorable one. We’re proud to support our local schools and help inspire the builders of tomorrow.
